anxiety

it is difficult to struggle with the “what ifs” of the future and “if onlys” of the past. our work will be to help you be where you are — in the midst of your circumstances — to feel what is there and to see what invitations are given to you. it is in this place that you can feel love, connection, and rest. a secure place where you can be close to someone while also getting what you want. therapy can help you with the guilt of getting more and bearing the disappointment of others when you can’t always be what they want.

boundaries

you may feel overburdened but can’t say no. you may feel unimportant unless you’re helping someone. the result may be that others use you, and yet doing anything else may seem risky — even impossible. counseling is an opportunity to develop healthy boundaries and self-care skills. knowing your value and the value of your own wants and needs will help you experience a more abundant life.

gender & sexuality

it’s likely you haven’t been given the space you need to explore your sexuality or gender identity. you may be having new experiences of yourself and your body. you may be trying to reconcile what you are learning about yourself with having a relationship with the Bible, God, or the church. this is a most sacred path of discovering how you are made. and that it is good. sometimes losing who you’re supposed to be to gain your soul is more beautiful than you ever thought. LGBTQ+ affirming.

grief and loss

you may have lost a loved one through death or divorce. you may be single and want to be married. or you have a child with special needs. perhaps someone you love has betrayed you, or you feel empty in your career. each leads down a road that can feel unknown and lonely. what happens in this place of doubt and questioning is crucial. in this place of powerlessness is the birthplace of grief and gratitude.

life transitions

transitions are hard. starting college, changing careers, becoming a parent, moving….life shifts can be overwhelming places as well as opportunities for learning and growth. whether you’re trying to make big decisions for your life or trying to live with the ones you’ve made, walking with an experienced therapist will help you to find out who you are and what upholds you in times of change.

relationships

when we run into obstacles in relationships with spouses, significant others, family, friends, or coworkers, we often turn to familiar ways of responding that have been forged over many years. if we’re lucky, those choices work. if not, we can feel stuck. old ways of responding to others may be difficult to leave behind. however, fresh eyes on your situation, in the context of a strong therapeutic relationship, can reveal new options that offer you far more — more satisfaction, more freedom, more life.

spirituality

spiritual emptiness and the loneliness that accompanies it can create a profound sense of crisis. facing your own brokenness may feel like weakness or failure. yet this is the place to find the greatest freedom, the greatest rest, and your greatest strength in the world. an open, restful place will help you explore your inner world, your soul, your spirit and how you are uniquely created. my desire is to invite you to listen to what resonates with you, to what stirs you. to gain trust in these glimpses, even though you cannot yet see them fully.

women’s issues

as a woman, you face unique life circumstances. you may have experienced infertility, miscarriages, or birth trauma. you may be navigating life as a stay-home mom or balancing mothering with another career. you may have less desire. expectations and pressures of who you’re supposed to be can make it hard to enjoy who you really are. you may feel guilt and fear of disappointing others. but learning to bear these feelings is the path to having your soul back and to feeling peace. this is good for the whole world.
