that’s not me
many of us find ourselves saying, “i need to be like that” when we see a post on facebook, listen to a podcast, or read the news. i need to be doing what that person is doing. i need to be like that person. if i just try harder i can be THAT. and we get farther from ourselves. farther from our own soul. i can imagine Jesus hearing people say all the things that he wasn’t. all the things he should be. and how time and time again he said, “that’s not me.” no matter how hard we want to be something, in the end all we can be is who we are. and that is more beautiful than we can imagine.
